Welcome to end-extreme-poverty.org, a website dedicated to the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger.
More than 1 billion people worldwide are still living in extreme poverty. In Bangladesh alone 20% of the 160 million population are considered extremely poor. They suffer from numerous dimensions of marginalization and exclusion. Their participation in the economic, social and political life of society is drastically limited. Tackling this situation requires a holistic and comprehensive approach which goes beyond short-term development relief work and certainly far beyond what a website can achieve. However, a website can help to highlight viable ways, tools and approaches which effectively empower extremely poor people to strengthen their self-help abilities, their resilience, autonomy and self-determination in order to fight the causes and consequences of extreme poverty by their own strength. This website intends to do just that!
